Some Important Tips for TOEFL Reading Section:-

  • You might have heard this from many people read many articles, read this newspaper, or read magazines. But what i feel is that, there is no direction in these methods for improving your English reading capability or to phrase it like 'The above methods aren't efficacious enough'.
  • What is efficacious for improving TOEFL reading? Again this is my personal opinion, you can always choose the strategy which works for you the best. You can start reading comprehensions from the Manhattan 5LB book and try answering the questions. As it will be a GRE based comprehension section in Manhattan, as you practice along, your ability to read and answer question will be fortified.
  • When we juxtapose the level of comprehensions of GRE and TOEFL, TOEFL is much more easier. So if you daily read 5 passages from Manhattan book and try to answer the questions, your ability to read and answer the questions will ameliorate.
  • Not to mention, you will also identify new words which will add up to your vocabulary list.
  • Remember, for both GRE and TOEFL you will need at least 2000 words. Don't be intimidated by such a number, but trust me the more vocabulary you will have in your arsenal, the more effective you will be during exam. Slowly but steadily built your vocabulary, a small improvement daily will give you results you never expected of.
  • This a very quotidian statement but trust me it always works, the more you'll practice, the more you'll get comfortable with it.
  • Finally, you may also wants to make notes of the new words, it will come handy when you are revising. Also dictionary by Merriam Webster will come handy for finding out exact meaning of the words, examples, pronunciation, synonyms. Click here to download the Merriam Webster application
